Quite a big week in La Rochelle (and beyond) with lots to report. By Friday we will be either living aboard or sleeping on a park bench!

If you are picking up a boat in La Rochelle you will probably be spending a couple of weeks here at least. While ITIKI is in the water she is off limits until official handover so aside from running some errands and shopping for boat stuff we took some time to explore this lovely town and make like locals, shopping at the markets and eating way too much amazing cheese! The weather has been beautiful too. A very exciting moment as ITIKI goes on the water. Also my first video on iMovie - a little bit shaky (probably the excitement!) (or how prepared do you need to be??)  Testing the battle flag on Mum's flagpole Here is a great idea! Quit your high powered corporate job (Lynda), sell your successful charter business (Keith), pack up, give away and/or sell all of your wordly possessions, rent out your beloved home to strangers, leave family and friends and go and live on a yacht in the Mediterranean for a few years. Sounds like a dream, the adventure of a lifetime and we are sure it will be; but how much research and preparation goes into making it happen? Well there are certainly a lot of ducks to line up and it is an amazing feeling when you realise that everything is coming together and you can actually put a time frame on it.
